Who Am I?
Humble Beginnings - Trials & Tribulations
Born and raised in Prescot, Merseyside, I grew up surrounded by limited opportunities. It became clear early on that if I wanted financial freedom — without resorting to selling illicit “goods,” working in a factory, or following the well-worn path of securing a job at the local hospital through family connections — I’d need to look further afield.
A timely conversation with my Maths tutor at college provided the inspiration. University hadn’t been on my radar, but once it was, the idea was planted. Truthfully, my decision had little to do with a passion for Mathematics itself. Maths was simply my ticket to something bigger — access to better opportunities and a future beyond the constraints of what I had become familiar with.
Starting out as a 12-year-old delivering newspapers and helping on the local milk round before school, I’ve worked in more roles than I can count—across industries, sectors, and responsibilities.
Here’s a snapshot (in no particular order):
Kitchen Cleaner – Pub
Fishmonger
Hospital Porter
Supermarket – Shelf stacker & till operator
Customer Service
Sales – A lot of sales. I’ve sold beers, software, hardware, furniture, garage doors, SME training, social care training, advertising—and probably more I’ve forgotten (or deliberately blocked out).
Business Development – Chamber of Commerce
Maths Teacher
Self-Employed Sales Agent
Business Development Manager – SaaS Startup
Sales Director – Furniture Importer
Operations Manager – Adult Social Care (Local Authority)
Amazon & Uber Eats Delivery Driver
Labourer
Beyond the job titles, I’ve also gained experience across industries:
Secured £1m in angel funding while working at a SaaS startup.
Led business development for a tech company providing e-commerce solutions to the fashion industry.
Imported and sold furniture from the Far East alongside my brother, a furniture designer, supplying independent stores.
Most recently, I worked as an Operations Manager at a Local Authority, overseeing £30m in income and a £2.5m budget for Adult Social Care.
A fair question.
The truth? I don’t claim to be an expert coder (despite dabbling in C++ and Visual Basic at college and uni), a full-time developer, or a graphic designer. But what I do have is an insatiable drive to help small independent businesses—especially the underdogs—take advantage of the level playing field that the online world has created.
Today, anyone can broadcast a message, promote an offer, or build a brand in ways that were once impossible (or crazy expensive) for the average one-man band or small business. And that’s exactly why I do what I do.
It turns out, I’m actually pretty good at creating and designing websites.
I’ve always been passionate about all things online, but I’ll level with you—I no longer use social media in my personal life, aside from browsing X or Substack. These days, I’m more of a creator than a consumer. And if you give me the chance, I’ll show you why you should be too—because endlessly scrolling social media is only helping someone else’s business, not yours.
I’m just a regular lad from Liverpool who speaks plain English—not JavaScript, tech jargon, or any other language designed to confuse you. And I realised a long time ago that the conventional 9-5 wasn’t for me.
I wanted more—and that’s when Stottyfy was born.
Now, I help small businesses and solopreneurs build brands, create websites, and revamp their online presence. The landscape has changed for good.
Get ready.
